Sanya Travel Overview

Sanya is located at the southernmost point of the Hainan Island. In the ancient time, Sanya was always considered the place at the end of the earth or the parallels of heaven, earth and water altogether. 210 kilometers coastline strings, 19 best white sandy bays and 40 islands and all kinds of watering activities can be found here. The city is at annual temperature 25.4℃ with the lowest of 20℃ in the winter.

The city has turned into a modern international city for tropical beach tourists. China’s most beautiful luxury resorts and spas, hotels and condos are gathering along the sandy bays here. All of these places are designed and built by incredible tries and no-vanishing images for best experience and vibrant lifestyle. Beach sports, golf and tennis courses, the conference and convention centers, the fashion arcades, the entertainment shows and folklore plays, the monument for legends, temples, status and the Gate Scene are fully stringed at the areas.

The island of Hainan has an interesting Chinese history, of which the city of Sanya naturally forms a part, albeit, only a relatively recent part of that history. The island was made an integral part of China early on, surely for defensive reasons. As soon as the first Chinese emperor concerned himself about Guangdong Province, he would naturally be concerned about Hainan Island.

Sanya's inarguably most attractive feature is its sandy beaches that are distributed among the city's three bays: Sanya Bay, Yalong Bay and Dadong Bay. Sanya Bay and Yalong Bay are the best places for swimming and sunbathing, while Dadong Bay is the closest one to the downtown. Wuzhizhou Island in Sanya Bay is the ideal venue for all manner of water sports, from windsurfing to scuba diving to kayaking. Sanya was a favorite haunt of the former Chinese Chairman, Mao Zedong, himself an avid swimmer. It was also very popular with the Russian elite during the Soviet era, which earned the city the title of the "Vladivostok of the East". Sanya is now increasingly popular with tourists from Japan and Korea.
