Sichuan Museum

Established in 1941, Sichuan Museum is located in Huanhua Stream Park in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. It is the largest comprehensive museum in southwestern China and occupies an important position in national public museums. Sichuan Museum currently has more than 260,000 cultural relics in its collection, among which more than 50,000 are precious cultural relics. It has been rated as a national first-class museum.

The new building was completed in 2009. With an investment of more than 300 million Chinese yuan, the new building has 32,026 square meters, four times the size of the original one. There are 14 exhibition halls, including and 4 temporary exhibition halls and 10 permanent exhibitions such as calligraphy and painting, ceramics, bronze ware, national cultural relics, arts and crafts, Tibetan Buddhism, stone carvings of the Wanfo Temple, pottery and stone art of the Han Dynasty.

The exhibition is divided into three floors. The first floor is equipped with Sichuan Han Dynasty pottery art exhibition and multi-function hall meeting reception room. On the second floor are Bashu Bronze Exhibition Hall, Ceramics Exhibition Hall, Painting and Calligraphy Museum and Zhang Daqian's Artworks Exhibition. On the third floor are the Tibetan Buddhist Heritage Museum, the Wanfo Temple Stone Carving Museum, the Sichuan Ethnic Literature Exhibition, the Arts and Crafts Museum and the Centennial Sichuan Museum.
