On August 8, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower, and Shanghai Wildlife Park, which are three of Shanghai's top destinations, jointly launched a new city pass ticket program to attract tourists from home and abroad.

Shanghai has launched its city passes program since June this year. The first few passes have covered 90 percent of top attractions in Shanghai, while the list is still expanding. So far, nearly 100 travel destinations have confirmed they will participate in the Shanghai Pass program, and the newest three are Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower, and Shanghai Wildlife Park. Visitors can book the passes online for one-day, two-day, and three-day trips on these three destinations with different prices, such as adult price and student price.

This new program, which includes destinations mainly focus on scientific knowledge, is aiming to prompt science popularization since the city receives an increasing amount of student visitors according to statistic. The program also boosts Shanghai’s international tourism. Since it is a flexible and convenient way to travel Shanghai by these city passes, more and more international travelers were attracted to Shanghai in the past few years. According to statistics from the online ticket platform, at least 25 percent of the city passes were booked by international travelers so far.
