Beijing releases unlimited electronic subway tickets

According to the Beijing Subway, Beijing releases the electronic subway tickets, enabling unlimited trips within fixed time periods since January 20th. The tickets can be used on the Beijing’s metro network except the airport lines, and it will be available on the app Yitongxing, the official online Beijing Subway payment platform.

 

One Day Pass, Two Day Pass, Three Day Pass, Five Day Pass, and Seven Day Pass tickets, priced 20 ($2.95), 30, 40, 70 and 90 RMB are available for public. The tickets allow passengers to embark subway trains as often as they want within their designated time period.

 

“The newly released tickets will bring convenience to visitors to Beijing, or anyone who needs to take the subway several times in a short time, and will cut back on the need to wait in line to buy tickets”, said by the official of Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport.

 

Beijing Subway consists of 22 lines including 20 conventional track metro lines, one maglev line and one light rail line. The subway network extends 636.8 kilometers across 12 urban and suburban districts of Beijing, and has 391 stations. Beijing now uses a metered fare system for subway rides, with passengers typically buying single-ride tickets or using rechargeable fare cards.
