Erhai Open Sea Festival Kicked off in Dali

Erhai Open Sea Festival kicked off at Dali, Yunnan province on September 28, and local fishermen can start the annual Erhai fishing life.

 

The festival began with a ritual to open sea, and following activities include the dragon-boat race, Bai antiphonal singing, dragon and lion dances on the shore, and empty-handed catch fish match.

 

Erhai is an important food source for the local Bai ethnic group. The lake gets its name due to its ear like shape. Covering an area of 250 square kilometers, Erhai is the second largest highland lake in China.
