According to South African Airways (SAA), the first direct flight between Johannesburg - the biggest city in South Africa, and Guangzhou - a prosperous metropolis in the south part of China, will be launched since September 19th this year.

There would be three flights a week, with the flight time of approximately 14 hours.

The flight will leave Guangzhou at 22:15 Beijing time on each Monday, Thursday and Saturday. The return flight will depart from Johannesburg at 19:25 local time on each Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

This flight is aimed at catering for business and corporate people traveling between the cities. As the first direct flight between the two cities, it will provide the shortest travel time between these two points. South African Airways also signed interline agreements with other airlines, such as China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Air China, Hainan Airlines, to further strength the corporation between China and South Africa.
