The “When Watercolor Encounters Chinese Ink” art exhibition is now running at the National Art Museum of China until December 20.

The art exhibition shows more than 80 watercolor and ink paintings by Song Yuelin from Jiangxi province, who uses a highly expressionist style through two mediums of the East and West. The exhibition reviews the evolution of Song, a leading figure in Jiangxi's art circles, from a realistic style to an abstract, spiritual style over a course of four decades.

The exhibition gathers those paintings which garnered Song Yuelin much attention in the 1880s and 1890s, such as Well and Women, as well as watercolors, which won him prizes at national competitions and shows.
