Turkey's national air carrier, Turkish Airlines has announced a plan to increase the frequency of flights to Beijing, Shanghai, and to add a new route to its third destination in China, Guangzhou.

From December 23, 2010 the airline will operate daily flights from Beijing to Istanbul, an increase over the previous five-a-week schedule and the Shanghai to Istanbul service will also become a daily service, although the exact date is still to be announced.

Turkish Airlines have also stated that they have received the final approval and will inaugurate a new service between Istanbul and Guangzhou on January 31, 2011. Preparations are being made to welcome the first flight to Guangzhou — Turkish Airlines' third destination in mainland China — and bookings are already being taken from agents and travelers throughout the Pearl River Delta region.
